A picture is worth a thousand words...

We have seen plenty of video from the Gulf Wars of American smart bombs hitting targets in Iraq and Afganistan, but this is a picture of an Israeli missle right before it struck a Katusha launch pad. I hope we see these pictures again and again and again until there are no more Katusha launch pads left in Lebanon and Hizbullah is wiped off the face of the earth.

Have you been to B.E.D lately?
That is the question that is on the minds of Atlanta's fun-loving and outgoing. The restaurant and the bar/lounge are great, but the rooftop... Well, the usual answer "we are closed for a private party" did not fly with us and since our friend knows the General Manager of the B.E.D, we were escorted through a private elevator directly to the rooftop. Not only that, there really was a private party this night, it was Usher's little brother's closed party with photographers and MC's. The roof was packed. The six of us hung out by the bar with the view of Atlanta's brightest buildings sipping Mint Mohitos and it was awesome! We will definitely come back to the lounge since Maria felt it was the best decorated lounge she has seen in a long time, and may even come up to the roof.

Israel vs Hezbollah and how to figure out proportions
The whole world is watching the events unfolding in the Middle East. I am not going to recap what's going on, I would like to just comment on some of the criticism that Israel has been getting for its "disproportionate" response. Here is what I want to say:
If you get slapped on the cheek, you cannot go and burn down their house. However, if you get shot at and your citizens get killed by rocket fire, YOU HAVE EVERY INTERNATIONAL TREATY RIGHT TO GO OVER THERE WHERE THE ROCKETS ARE COMING FROM AND BEAT THEM INTO THE GROUND, TOPPLE THEIR GOVERNMENT AND MAKE SURE THAT NO OTHER ROCKET EVER HITS YOUR SOVEREIGN TERRITORY AND HURT ANY OF YOUR CITIZENS. With that being said, I want to emphasize a couple of other points:
- Israel warns civil population before making attacks. Hezbollah attacks with unaimed weapons that hurt only the civilians.
- Hezbollah has taken 2 Israeli soldiers hostage and instigated this chapter of the conflict.
- I have not heard a single peep from the international community to see the 2 captured soldiers and make sure that they are treated humanitarily. Is that an indication that the international community acknoledges that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization or just unwillingness to help Israel deal with her sad reality?
- The international community has pledged millions of dollars to Lebanon to fix back it's infrastructure destroyed in the conflict and feed people that have left their homes to escape Israeli bombardment, same people who harbor Hezbollah in their homes. Who is going to pay for roads and homes destroyed by Hezbollah? Are they ever going to be held responsible for what they are doing to Israel?
